How does the shotgun/muzzleloader season work for non-residents in IL..????

what do you mean " how does it work?" like application wise or what?

I know non-residents can buy an archery license (in limited supplies) over the phone.. but what do we need to do to be able to get a shotgun/muzzleloader license?...sorry, I hope this makes the question more clear.

I' ve hunted twice now in ILL and found the procedures a little confusing at first but here is the scoop.

1. Sometime around July 15th, you can apply for a NR Deer Tag through the mail. You choose 1st and 2nd choice counties as well as 1st or 2nd season. You can either download the application or a nice lady from DNR will mail. They list the prospects by county as some counties sell out FAST.

2. Once you get your deer permit, you need to buy a habitat stamp and a 5 day license. You can buy these online w/your credit card.

3. Once you do this once, they will mail you your permit application.
