Default Call Mo dept of Conservation NOW!!!!!!

I just got off the phone with a Mr Brscoe,he said they are considering chargeing NRs what there state charges Missouri hunters to hunt in there state. They have received a number of calls from us about this. But I get the feeling we need some more PUSH!!!! I am asking all Missouri hunters to call the Mo dept of conservation and TELL THEM THIS IS ONLY FAIR TO KEEP US FROM BEING OVER RUN BY OUT OF STATERS!!! Remind them we were there for them when the sales tax on sporting goods was passed for them. Also when St Louis county tryed to high-jack there fund to fix there sewers!!!I know it will coust you a couple of bucks to call, but it sure beats trying to get petitions signed!! The # for the main office is [573]-751-4115. Don't just ask for Brscoe, the more ears we bend on this the better!!!GO GET-EM Ken 101st abn div 71-73

knorberg it's the same all over where i live we have good to great pheasant hunting depending on the year and every opening weekend you take your life in your hands to go hunting even on private ground with all the NR's and City boys down for the weekend alot don't mind tresspassing abit just to blast somthing and for most of these guys they don't care how much it costs as i think you'll find out if they raise the prices for NR tags in Mo.

Drache, There is no drawing for NRs tags in Missouri. They are unlimited, thats right walk into any wally-world and plop down a measley 125.00 and get your buck tag!!!You all also get to hunt with a center fire rifle and as a added bonus it durring the RUT!! You know the folks up there in the state house DesMonies don't trust you all with a center fire. Take a look and see when the few NRs that draw a tag get to hunt! The area I wanted to hunt up there a 20 county unit only had 360 tags! H*LL we have 3 times that many NRs in one county alone!!! Am I mad you bet. Ken 101st abn div 71-73

Kronberg...I understand why you are so upset. However, as an Ohio res that owns land in West Virginia, I hope this never happens there. NR hunters bring more $$ into WV than any other activity during the WHOLE year...and I pay my utilities. I also pay my taxes to WV at a HIGHER rate than the residents. Not to mention the local businesses that depend on that week for success. Wouldn't it be a crapper if someday I couldn't get a tag to hunt on the 500 acres that I saved half my life to buy?

I'll call them to tell them I won't be back. Our state has a rediculous price for the NR. Iowa made a mistake by going to such a high price trying to bring in more revenue, but I think they will be able to sell all of the tags allowed because of the big buck reputation. As for Missouri, they will lose some hunters and not only will this hurt the state, it will hurt the travel industry at the same time.

Ok 150 class I see how this works. Because your state has a rep for big bucks they can charge what ever they want! But we still want to come down there to hunt the rut and shoot our high powers [or do you bring your shotgun down here?]and hunt CHEEP!!! You the NRs can hunt in Jan when the big bucks are sheading there antlers if you can get a tag!! Or better yet you can buy one of our 235.00 doe tags HA HA!!!!Yes this is what's in store for those NRs who want to hunt up there with a M/L. As for this giant travel industry down here it will limp by. You see we will let the MDC know who butters there bread. But maybe you should take your money some where else. Ken 101st abn div 71-73

Kronberg...I'm not saying that I blame you. I can see the problem on public land. However, how can you keep a landowner from hunting on his OWN land during the season? That kind of kills the idea of OWNING something, doesn't it? I pay over $200 in WV for my license and all tags. I don't do it to go there and use a high-power rifle...I don't do it for the big bucks...I do it to hunt MY land with MY resident family.

knorberg - I know there are residents like you that don't want as many NRs hunting there. That is why you want the state to change the rules for the NR. Your argument is the same as mine...raise the price and you will have fewer hunters. I ask, is that really what your state is after? As far as my state goes, we have residents who feel the same way as you do about the NR. It is the very reason that we have a cap on the number of NRs who will get a tag. Due to the cap and due to the rep or fact that there are friends, relatives and land owners willing to pay the price, we might lose a few who don't want to pay the price but the next person in line will and all tags will get sold. We will not lose any revenue. Your state most likely will.
