air fare over 500 is the norm??? Heck I just saw it going for 225 rt from Minneapolis to Fairbanks!

600 for moose? Do your homework!

The guides...cant help ya there. Sheep, goats and brown bears are a very LIMITED source...unlike turkey and wt populations! They are already trying to limit sheep for one every 4 years for residents. One grizz/brown every 4 years is already in effect. When you look at AK prices compared to some western hunts...its friggn CHEAP! The costs is charter flights in and out, getting meat in and out, and getting yourself up here and back (This one you can work with if you are watching it!) I spent just under 200 for 2 deer tags in Mn. Yup you are getting 2 turkey tags with that fall archery lisc but last I looked it was what...150? Mn is draw for the big birds.....a hole different ball game there!

You dont like putting prices on heads but that is what you are trying to get your state to follow????

AK can follow and make most of the state closed to Non res so we can have a decent place to hunt that hasnt been overrun by Non res and the charter pilots buiz's!!! Very simple considering your biggest US state is MOSTLY state or fed lands!!!

I hear your cry to upping prices but you reasons are as far fletched as your thinkings!

forgot to add...if you do your homework..a good bou hunt can cost you less then 2k! Considering you are traveling what, 3k miles then out into BFE.....not to bad! Prices for the tags and lis for bou will run you just over 400! You have to take into account you are buying a 85 buck hunting lisc! No different then out west...IN MOST hunts!!! I think I am paying over 400 for a damn elk tag in WY if I get drawn! Almost 300 for a mulie tag!!!! Havent even sat down and compared the rest!!!!!!

Watch what you ask for!

I wasnt disagreeing to the fact staten on to many hunters..damn near got shot 2 springs ago now on state land...my partner did get shot (dunno how they missed his turk dec in an open field!!!

the hunting lisc for Ak is 85, moose tag is 325! Not sound like its much but when factored in to your equation of total price 100 here and a 100 saved there add up bigtime..or spent here or there LOL. Also keep your eyes out during the price wars..heck I would try to check for airfare daily if possible! I did see tickets going for 225 from Mn to Fairbanks less then 3 months ago. Its not uncommon to see them around 325! more money saved or spent elsewhere!!!

Also you dont need a guide to hunt bou or moose in AK..only Dall Sheep Mt Goats, and Brown Bears...just some tidbits.

nope not even for rifles!

Guides are only needed for Mt Goats, Brown Bears, and Dall Sheep regardless of weapon choice.

If ya make it into the interior shoot me an email, if nothing else its nice to get a chance to meet others on here!

Hmmmmm... You say that northwest Missouri leads the harvest totals. Maybe that is because people will shoot the first thing that walks in front of them not taking into consideration the size of the horns?

Ah hell, quit your belly aching. Here in Illinois everyone and there momma comes here to hunt deer in western illinois. ive hunted turkeys in mo. just to get away once in awhile. The deer and turkey fly and swim accross the mississippi river anyway. So whom do they belong too?
