RE: North Dakota
I wish. Lived in TRF, MN for several years, took trips out to Dickenson areafor pheasant, duck, goose. Traveled other places with my wrestling team. Two regrets: Never fished Devils Lake for perch (although we were able to catch jumbo's on Lake of the Woods) and didn't try to deer hunt.
FYI just read a book by Chuck Klosterman (from ND) called Down Town Owl about a (fictious)town near Jamestown/Valley City. Good book, quick read. Entails some true stories of the area like the blizzard of '84. Check it out.

RE: North Dakota
Are you talking like down in the Bowman area. I am not sure there is much public land down there. Best bet for public land is the badlands over in the Grassy Butte area and thereyou may even get a shot on a Mt. Lion.
