The first lottery for IL residents has came and went in early December. The second lottery, for nonresidents and residents who haven't drawn a tag yet is quickly approaching. I believe your application must be in by Jan. 9. The third lottery deadline, for anyone to apply for a second permit is early Feb. The next drawing after that is on a first come first serve basis for remaining permits.

For the most reliable info go to IDNR's website. They also have a page there that will show you how many tags are remaining for each county and season after the first lottery.

The deadline for the 2nd draw is January 11th. I think they have to have it in hand on the 11th so send it in as soon as you can, or you can also apply online on the dnr website. Scroll down to the Turky section on the link below to apply online or download the mail in permit.
