I agree 100%, most the people that dont use bait are the ones hunting all the agricultural fields, up north we dont have fields around us so we use bait. and since all the bait shops are still selling bait, I would imagine most people are still going to bait, got all our feeders turned off on our property so it will be interesting to see how many deer we see this year without bait. If I see more deer and better bucks I will be convinced to stop using bait.

I find it amusing the some hunters think they are superior because they dont use "bait". But think nothing about hunting that oak grove, picked corn, soybeans, water hole, alfalfa field. apple orchard, persimmon treeto increase their chances of seeing game.
Living in Indiana, I feel any legal means to take deer should be understood and tolerated by fellow hunters or youran elitist cannibal. To judge others on how they legally take game is wrong.

Couldn't have said it better. I understand some hunters just put out bait and don't put in the time but there are people who hunt over bait that put in more time than their counterparts.
Great statement tickman

Everywhere i have been is selling corn, carrots, deer cain etc. 2 for 1., Buy one get one free.
In my opinion people are still going to bait, not all but more than we think. The stores will still sell products for baiting.
It's really not going to effect me since i hunt on 80 acres that is mostly corn and beans with hardwoods and some fields around.

I can't believe people think hunting an 800 acre corn field, next to a 800 acre bean field, next to a 800 acre wheat field........is the same as hunting over a pile of carrots 20 yards in front of you.

I am an avid hunter and I use bait. One reason is I can get the deer to stop in a location that gives me the opportunity to make a better shot and faster kill. If don't bait then I hunt near natural bait like apple trees or runs. It's all the same whether you put it out or use natural bait, it's all bait.

word in the woods is that the Dnr officers will be flying and coordinating with the ground with fresh new ticket books! careful! it can get expensive from what I hear!

Not trying to pick any fights here or anything, but if the deer are so thick in the south and the dnr are doing everything they can to kill as many as possible with ideas such as the early doe season then wouldn't you want to make it easier for hunters to kill deer with things like bait, seems like they want the deer numbers down and with the ban they are making it harder to hunt, i agree people will have to change their tactics but you know most of them won't and they will probably not even hunt if they can't throw some carrots out and see deer running for it.
