Default Iowa Spring Turkey Season

This is my first year going turkey hunting. I am going hunting with a college roommate in southern Iowa. Can anyone tell me if there is anywhere on southern Iowa that is better than others.
Thanks

Default RE: Iowa Spring Turkey

I' ve always seen tons of turkey on every public land area I' ve deerhunted in Iowa. I think it is the most under-rated state in the country. One time this past November I had 3 flocks come in from different directions - counted over 100 birds in the field in front of me. In fact I got mad at them because often I' d bust them out of the trees while going/coming from deerstands. Riverbottoms and ridgetops are best. I bet you will find birds wherever you go.
