RE: U.P. of Michigan
In Iron County lots of does and fawns, very few bucks! Last shooter buck I saw was early september still in the bachelor group (125" 8 point). Great fawn crop this year. Every doe I see has at least 1fawn, some twins and I saw 2 different triplets. Bowhunting Oct. 30 I saw 18 does, five of which were button bucks. Our buck to doe ratio is horrible up here and I wish we could close the buck harvest for a few years to let some nice deer grow. We shoot alot of does but apparently not enough. Those guys in menominee have all those nice corn fed bucks. They always have nice trophy bucks coming out of their! Its just the seeking phase right now, smaller bucks sniffing does but no hard core chasing yet. Very few scrapes, and rubs compared to last year.
