Default When to rattle or use Scents?

Is it too early for the whole rattling and gunt or can call and scents.

I dont know much about how to effectively use that stuff.

When is it best to start and in what combination.

If it helps i typically hunt the southern half of wisconsin.

Thanks for any help!!!!

I'd start "ticking" the horns lightly, and use doe pee, then I'm guess in Wis. your rut is a week or 2 sooner than central IL, so in 10-14 days, I'd starting banging them together and using the estrus stuff.

Light rattling and grunting works now. I'd forgo the estrus scent(buck urine may be ok)at least until Halloween. Not sure where in Wi you are from, but 1st weekend in Nov is always a good bet for starting the estrus stuff. Until then it seems like a waste of money in my experience.
