WI public Hunting? (LaCrosse, Vernon, Crawford counties)
Out to find some info on deer hunting in these areas. We have a place close to the Genoa damn and have been visiting the area for about 6 years.
Is it open hunting ground on the islands and inbetween the two railways? I also had someone mention Rushcreek? I'm guessing a late season will be when I'll beable to get around to it.
...also prayers out to all the flood victoms. I was up there durring the rains, and had to take my wife and kid through Gays Mills today on the way home. (ps there was a cow loose just south of town there on 131, might want to check your heard)

The DNR website has map that shows all the public hunting areas.
http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/wildlife/reclands/index.htm
I think your talking about the West Central area
http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/wildlife/reclands/westcentralmap.htm
just click the little diamond areas to get more info for each area.
good luck

hay there, I live in Crawford county and have hunted some public land like the kickapoo river wildlife areas wauzeka and bell center units and have harvested deer but a lot of that land is hard to access and parking sucks like the side of the road, but its hardly bow hunted and a fair amount of gun hunters. if your willing to put in some hard work and effort It should pay off !!
