i checked the dnr web stie and it said that tags would be available over the counter late august . i called the local dicks sporting goods and the guy said they will not have them you have to register online. has anyone heard of this?

Should be over the counter. They may be late. The fellow didn't know what he was talking about. Only non-res have to go through the online BS.
