Default 10 Round Magazines for Illinois?!

Just read in the paper that Senate has approve banning all clips and clip attachments that hold more then 10 rounds of ammunition. with the exemption of lawenforcers. But if you have them now they said you can keep them but just not sell them. Also what i found kind of funny is that out of the people who voted, no one outside the area of Chicago voted for this ban.? Anybody else read this?

Seen it on IllinoisCarry.com. It hasn't passed in the house yet so theres still a chance of stopping it.

The point is that the proposed rule is completely arbitrary and will not do anything to prevent or reduce crime, but it will make life difficult for us regular folks. A criminal who is intent on using a firearm for evil purposes will do so even with a single shot gun. No reason to limit what law-abiding citizens are allowed to have, because we don't misuse them and ruin anyone else's day by having a magazine that holds more than ten rounds.

Purely cosmetic legislation. Elected officials need to show their constituents that they are working on reducing crime. Not actually "reducing" crime just trying. Every now and again, they get to hold up a piece of paper and say "Look at what we have done". What they should be saying is "Look we just trampled your constitutional rights and made more laws and rules for you to adhere to.

Yea iv been trying to think of why they came up with it anyhow. Are you trying to tell me that if you had 2 people side by side one with a 10 round clip and one with a 14 round clip that the guy with the 10 round clip is less likely to kill you? I dont think so..

The proposed ban isn't just on removeable clips. It is on all magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. That includes tubular magazines on 22's
