Whats your favorite way of catching snapping turtles? I like reeling them in,but shooting them with a fishing arrow is less like fishing and more like hunting.

If you get all the fat off the meat, and treat it just like pork, you can be eating good all summer. Most people dont want to try it so there are pleanty of turtles out there. We have to utilise all the carp we shoot so i tie up baitpiles to stumps just before dark and come back at first light to take my pick with my bow.

Well, I got my rifles back from the gunsmith, so here is what will be killing deer next november. This is a '91 Mauser Argentine chambered in 7.65mm. I have a new stock picked out; you can't really tell from the pics, but it's in pretty rough shape and the finish is horrible. I'll post up a pic or two and see what you guys think about the one I want.

And here is a pic of the stock I'm thinking about getting. Less than $100 for the stock (not including shipping, and extras like sling mounts, but pad, etc.)

I finally got out and was able to do a little scouting. I didn't see any deer, but I did see where they have been hanging out at. Lucky for me nothing has changed since the fall as far as their patterns go. They're using the same bedding area, the same routes to and from the bedding area to the water and food. I'm pretty positive right now for next year. There is a couple other places that I want to look at, but I just have to find the time. How is everyone else's scouting goin?
