Took my 8 year old daughter out last night for a scouting trip. got in the ground blind at about 3:40pm and sat till dark. As we walked in there were 2 does standing 15 yds in front of the blind. my daughter got very excited and we kneeled done and watched them for about 10 minutes. We cont. into the blind and they spooked and ran off. After sitting there for about 40 minutes here came a doe and 10 yds behind was a 2.5 year old 8 point. My daughter saw the doe first and was very excited to see deer so close. We live and hunt in morgan county IL and this doe was not ready but the buck was defenitly in chase mode. Well I do not bow hunt only shotgun for now so we saw the deer at about 20 yds and was one of the greatest expereinces I have had having my daughter there with me. Over all we saw 14 deer in total. I just wanted to share the experience and I looking forward to the opening season on nov 17.

It's always a great day in the woods when you can take your kids with, and seeing deer just tops it off. I love to hear about hunters taking their kids into the woods with them - great job and keep it up.
