I would say it is pre-rut right now.Some are chasing but the does are not ready yet.

I don't think so, as I haven't seen any does around, but I sure have seen a ton of bucks... see post in "Indiana hunters"

They are responding to rattling though, so I think they are still in the "scoping it out" phase pre-rut.

Ruts not in quite yet they are just starting pre rut in wi now in a nther week or two watch out the bucks will be moving damned good.

i dunno guys..i've seen a few nice bucks with their noses to the ground.. and my buddy was sitting last night and he had a dandy 10 pointer work 4 scrapes and his nose never left the ground..I think it's starting to get going pretty well

My dad just got in from hunting and around 12:30 he had a buck with about a 16 inch spread with his nose on the ground following three small deer that came through a minute before so I think things are starting to heat up.
