Bird numbers have diffinitly improved. I have focused on deer hunting this year however have hunted pheasent in central Iowa in NE Iowa. The numbers are diffintly better in Central Iowa, and seem to be down in NE Iowa.
I was told there was a number of heavy rains in NE Iowa in the spring.
Any hunters fron the NE part of the state the can varify this. I used to see many birds in that area, only two lonesome roosters this year.
While hunting in the Marshaltown area I see pheasents on a daily basis. Have taken some time to harvest a few of them.
