East Central Illinois Bucks Checking Does Already!
I went out last night and had a small yearling doe come in at 30 yards, trailing her was a nice 8point buck, he stopped to rub a tree and then followed the doe until she urinated, he checked it and then went on his way, Then I saw a spike trailing behind that found a small bush to rub, after rubbing it he followed the doe also. I had to sit and watch all of this. The buck gave me a clear broadside pose at 32 yards, it was killing me. I couldnt take him,I had already filled both of my buck tags. Anyone else seeing bucks checking does in Illinois yet?

yep,i live 30 miles south of st louis on the illinois side, they have been running together for about 2 weeks now down here,i also seen something very unusual the other day,a nice 10 point buck(very big bodied) was leading 2 does out of a field, across the road, and into the next woods.now,i either just witnessed a change in history, and the routine of deer,or there were does in front of him that had already passed through and i didn't see them, cause i highly doubt that that buck would come out 1st before a doe.

I just got back from a trip to eastern Ohio, and I probably saw 15-20 dead deer on the interstate, and also saw a few live ones out in daylight.
There hasn't been a whole lot of interaction at home, but there was 200 acres of standing corn as of last weekend where I hunt. Hopefully by Nov. 2nd it will be out because that's my next chance to hunt!
