Just wondering. I heard we were going to get the shotgun season moved a couple weeks later, and it'd be shortened up...any word?

I hadnt heard that and it will never happen. I have seen a lot of people suggesting we do that on several message boards but thats about it. These ideas are tossed around all the time, shorten gun season, antler restrictions, bow only during rut, they are always shot down. I do think the OBR is here to stay however.

Don't know who told you that , but they need to visit the IDNR site or talk to their CO more often . Firearms has not been moved and won't be . Here's IDNR's addy:

I read it somewhere on Indiana DNR page but now I can't find it. I've heard of a primative ML season also.

Wasn't there some discussion about haveing a mid range high power rifle (30-30 etc) season or the inclusion of them into the firearms season. If I was bringing in the mid ranges I would put that season in Last week of Dec and first week of Jan preempting a week of late archery. I do not beleive that there are many late archery hunter out as a general rule anyway due to the usual bad weather. Speaking of weather hasn.t this been a great mild winter. Right now I am betting that there are going to be more than the normal amount of twins and triplets come May.

i know a ton of late season archery hunters. I don't belive that they will permit high powered rifles in Indiana due to the population.

Turkey I agree with you on the chance of there actually being a mid range high power season. But stranger things have happened. They let in handguns and for years we were told that one of the reasons for not allowing them was population, also concealment. Me personally I am not running out and buying a new 30-30 right now in anticipation.
