Hey Bflem,
I would definatly stay in that spot & wait for the buck, if you are seeing them does on a regular basis...keep watchin, he's bound to come especially during rut!!!
I have only been able to get out 1 evening & didn't see a thing...I'm in nw ohio (Henry County)

I've had a few in range, but I'm trying to hold back. LOL
The deer have been skirting me a little, but I think I'm staying put for now. One will make a mistake sooner of later. GOOD LUCK!

If you are in Does then wait, as the rut approaches the bucks will start following the does.
I hada shot sunday evening and saw 2 does saturday night.

I was out opening day for 11 1/2 hours, from 7:00 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. I saw one big bodied deer about 80 yards behind my stand. I said big bodied because it was running through my area so fast by the time I turned my head I only saw the back side of it.

bflem, are you hunting for a doe or a buck? Hey Madriver, I can relate. I had 11 deer within 50 yards of my stand Opening day in the afternoon and some guy walks in late and spooked em all. 3 of them were right below my stand. All were doe and fawns, but it was only 5:15. A bachelor group might have come in behind them, but no such is life on public land. Remember it is very early boys! We are in the "October lull" Nice that our bow season opens right in the lull isnt it? Scouting, scouting, and then more scouting. Don't mess up an area, just understand it. Yesterday afternoon I got off work early and went to scout. I found exactly what I have been looking for. A buck core area! I am at Lake Erie all this weekend with my uncle's charter trips. So, I have to wait until next week to hunt that buck. Good luck boys!

Anyone hunting in central ohio? I live in Springfield. I attempted my first bow kill the other night . Bad shot, I somehow got him in his hind leg and he started screaming. I tried trailing him and lost it. I know what I did wrong and I can't wait for another to pass by so I can try it again. WHOAAAAAAAAAAA what a rush!
