allseason, go to idnr website and check what's still available after this first lottery. if there's tags available for the county you desire...........apply, don't hesitate.

veener, you make it sound like you have been sentenced to hunt McHenry. I'm up that way around Huntley atleast a couple times a year and see some dandy deer (big does & bucks). I will be wishing you a very successful season. Heck if you get a dandy, I'd sure like to see it.

Buck Terminator, have you ever bowhunted at Kickapoo or Middle Fork State Park? Just curious b/c I'm in my last semester at UofI and with gas prices at what they are right now I don't think I can afford to be going home to bowhunt all that often so I was looking for alternatives.
