Clinton Lake FridayNight 3-27-09
Metat the West Side access area with IB Club member Brent Blair and his Condor BF Team which includes his daughter Caylee and sonConnor.
Air temp was 41 degrees when we launched with a 15-20 mph NNE winds. Lake was rough. Water visability varied from 6 to 18 inches depending on which cove you got intoto get out of the wind.
The Condor BF Team was out with me the previous Saturday at Clinton for a couple of hours in the afternnoon. The water was so muddy that we only saw a couple of fish and they got an opportunity to miss them.
Fast forward to Friday night....headed towards the dam and worked the coves back to the ramp and then North to the power lines and crossed overto the other side and worked the coves back down the East side back to the ramp. The water was so rough out of the coves thatmy big 24 volt trolling motor was struggling to just keep us headed inthe right direction. We had to motor between coves with the big motor. Brent got his first ever fish in the first cove followed by Caylee in the second cove.9 year old Connor was succesful in boucning some arrows off some of the carp and wasa real help getting the fish in. After each fish that was dropped in the barrel, I would ask," Can we go put the boat on the trailer now?" A big loud "NO"was all the reply that I got. Dad got 4 commons, Caylle got her first ever two commons and Connor had alot of fun. I got to borrow one of my bows back for a quick shot at a common for 1 in the barrel. A good time was had by all and another family is hooked on bowfishing. Did I mention how rough the water was and how high the white caps where?
