Default AMS Retriever Reel Problems

This message was sent to me by e-mail about Retriever reels that were sold from late 2007- 2008......I am passing on the letter sent out by jeff and cindy from AMS......this is the reason why there is great service from this business........this came from backwater......

This from AMS:

Hello Everyone.

I wish we had better news.

We have found that we have a defective part in all Retriever's sold in 2008 and late 2007. The Rubber Drive Roller is defective and causing operational problems in all of our Retrievers. The drive roller's in this time frame were made differently than in the past and we have found that, after some use, the rubber is compressing and flaring and causing various issues that relate to binding, adjustment and misfeeding problems. Heavier or thicker line will have less of an issue but will still have issues. This issue possibly affects Retriever Pro's, Original Retriever's and Big Game Retriever's.

We are currently making new parts as quickly as possible and will be replacing rubber drive roller's at no charge for reels purchased in late 2007 and 2008. If you are unable to repair your reel with this part, we will also be glad to do that for you. Contact us for or new drive roller or for shipping instructions and an Return Authorization number at 888-541-7657.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please feel free to cross post this message as we would like as many people as possible become aware of this issue and resolve it for you and for them.

Thank You!

Jeff & Cindy Braun
