How did the weekend go anybody have good luck?? Well Slim came up (his first deer hunt of the year) saturday morning and we set out for a day of deer hunting. I saw a doe and joe saw a small buck in the morning. So that evening we went out early and joe was able to rattle in a 130" or so buck He ranged at 35 yards and the shot went a bit forward and hit the deer in the shoulder. We decided to go back and look in the morning but as bad luck started to unfold we managed to track the deer about a 1/4 mile with very little blood. We ended with no blood and no deer. However Joe got out for the first time for the year and was able to spend the weekend talking and planning for bowfishing and hunting so that part was good.

Bummer about Joe's deer. Kendall put a good hit on a small buck last evening. I could hear his buck crash from my stand two ridges over. We looked last night and looked for several hours this morning but couldn't find any sign of the deer. No blood, nothing. It's like it was abducted by aliens. [&o][:'(]
I shot a doe at about 5:30 pm yesterday. She was a wiley doe but not quite smart enough to look up. I watched her for about a half hour and since she didn't have any bucks with her, she was fair game.
