Default good shot or bad shot

I took my cow elk at 238 Yds. (lasar range) it went though the lungs and out the other side. I use a 300 grain power belt aero tip. It dropped about 24 inch.. I have shot my gun at 200 yds and it is true left and right. Some say this is a bad shot. What do you think.

If you were aware of your gun's drop at that distance and made your own range estimation to compensate for drop.....I'd have to say it was a fantastic shot.
But, if you think you were just lucky, and that you had no idea it would drop that much...the shot just ended up in the vitals by good luck...then it was a darn lucky but bad shot.
Congrats on your elk, and I'm guessing GOOD SHOT.

How much, and what kind of propellant did you use? What kind of rifle?

The rilfe I used is a .50 lyman Great Plains hunter. 1 in 32 with a 32inch barrel. I used 75 grains of clean shot. The bullet is a aero-tip power belt 300.

If there's meat in the freezer, how can it be a bad shot? Good job! Planning to apply for cow elk muzzleloader myself. What area was it? Don't have to answer if you don't want to, though.

If you know your weapon and how it shoots at that distance, than it was a GOOD shot.
