2 Rivers Fishing Fair Pics
Here are the pictures from last weekend's Two Rivers Family Fishing Fair at Pere Marquette State Park near Grafton, IL. I didn't get a ton of pictures because it rained quite a bit. Still, there were well over a 1000 kids there. (and I think we saw most all of them, and many came over to shoot more than once)
Even in the heaviest downpour the kids still kept coming over to shoot. They had a paper that we needed to punch when they came to the booth. It was pretty challenging try to punch a hole in fragile rain-soaked piece of paper. When they got all the punches they got a prize, nice prizes too.
Lined up to try a shot at the swimming fish.
Swimming fish targets:
Curt was most cool and I look forward to bowfishing with him soon.
He manned the 3-d foam fish side. Pouring rain didn't even slow him down.
Here he is with a slightly soaked young archer.
There were17 other instructionalbooths out there. From fish cleaning to fly fishing; making cane poles to making fish prints. They also had a bunch of 'fun' things like a bluegill pond, raffles, lure appraisals, Camo the Clown, a 5000 gallon tank filled with local fish. (the silver carp croaked early on) I think there was atotal of 28 fun/instructional areas.
At the end of the day the trout pond let out most of the water and let the kids try to catch fish by hand. It was a riot to watch.
A big thanks to all the volunteers. Thanks also to Curtof the USF&WS and Scott for inviting us down. We had a great time!

Congrats on another successful event working with kids and getting the word out. Looks like you made a lot of people's days out there.
Nice job.
Thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work.
