Dawson Lake Last Night
#1
After going by Evergreen Yesterday afternoon and seeing that it was still a "mud bowl", Drew and I decided to venture down to Dawson Lake last night. Well, we saw a lot of fish and hundreds, yes hundreds, of smoke screens! The fish were very easily spooked and water clarity was about a foot and a half at best. We boated 10 fish, or should I say Drew did. The fish were of very high quality! Big fish was 17 lbs. 6 oz.! We also had fish of 14-10, 10-10, 10-6, 8-0, 7-11, 6-14, 6-4, 6-0, and 4-7. Not too shabby!
HINT: I won't be shooting very many, if any at all, tournaments. If any of you are looking for a tourney partner, you may want to give Drew a call. The guy is a tremendous shot!
Take Care,
Mikey

Told you Dawson would be better.

(can't miss a chance to do that)
Congrats on the nice fish! I know there are some carp over 20lbs in there. Thanks for leaving them for me. heh heh

Christine:
Yeah, we owe you a big one!
I am glad we listened to you and didn't go to Evergreen. We put out the nets for the netting survey with the IDNR this morning and it is getting a bit better over here, but still has a ways to go.
Tootle Loo,

The CIRFCU just had to go out to Dawson yesterday. Got there a bit before dark.
Couldn't see much in the daylight. Lake was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday. I guess everybody else just had to go out to Dawson too.
Anyhow, only one carp was dumb enough to show it's self before dark and I promptly removed it from the gene pool.
Once it got dark we could see it's buddies.
Kendall whacks a nice 9lber. (probably the biggest common aboard the CIRFCUsince last summer)

Of course, just about the time he started with the New Champion of the World idea... This fish swam by me;

(about 16.5 -17lbs depending on how hard you shake the scale
)
Took 16 commons total.
