Hey,
Maybe I can get my big brudder to drive up and I can drive down!
Think it'd take me more than a couple of hours to get there?

Hey Diana!
How are things on your side of the Cheddar Curtain?

It would be great to have you and/or John down/up here.
(I had to think about how to say that for a second. )

It's about 120 miles from Racine to Wilmington, so a bit over2 hours I'd guess, depending on stops. It's all highway as soon as you get on 94, and then when you get off of 55 down here, you're in the park.

Boy oh boy, you pull in people from other states when you offer up free deer steaks.

You're lucky I don't eat deer steaks! Thanks anyway, but I'll bring my own dead cow variety.

I doubt that it'll take me over 2 hours to drive 120 miles!!! but I never know what kind of mess Chicago traffic will throw my way.[:@]

Sounds like a plan!!

There goes my theory.

Not to worry. Take the 294 bypass and stay west of the whole deal.
Sunday traffic shouldn't be bad for anyone, except for the carp trying to run from us.

294 is my normal route...(lovin' the new I-pass toll plazas) but I just saw on the news that there'sconstruction near the Demsey/Toughy area and it may cause slow downs.

If John doesn't go I'll beboatless and I've never shot from shore. This could prove interesting!

I have accessto 2 canoes that I can bring down there, although I may need to have someone meet me at my place (20 mins from the shoot location) if we need them both.

They would be rented at $15 each, so have cash on hand please.

UPDATE: (as of 3/28)
Because scattered light rain showers might still be in the area on Sunday, I'm relocating the dinner portion of this get-together to my house. We're still shooting rain or shine. I'm only about 20 minutes from DPCA, and I'll have easy directionsto hand out atthe shoot.

If the weather is nice, we can eat out on my deck, and if it's drizzly, there is plenty of room indoors. Bring your own drinks and snacks for fishing, but I'll have everything for dinnertime.

This shoot is tomorrow, and there is still one open spot on a boat if anyone wants in at the last minute. PM me or email please.
Weather still looks OK.

Also, remember that you'll need a 2007 fishing license for tomorrow's shoot since the 2006 season ends today.
If you still need one, you can get them on-line here...

I already have my '07 license.

I hope it doesn't rain down here for a couple of days. We are on sump pump watch right now. Poor thing isn't getting much of a rest lately. Yesterday it ran almost non-stop. If it didn't we'd have an indoor swimming pool by now.

If it rains a bunch, we may not make it up to the shoot tomorrow. Otherwise we're still planning on it. Even with the expected wind.

Here's a picture of a house down the street. Seasonal Lakefront property. It almost looks like there should be carp around.

I hope you've got a backup pump...and a spare. I learned that lesson the hard way. Thankfully I didn't loose anything but time.
