Illinois Bowfishers 2007 Challenge
Illinois Bowfishers 2007 Challenge (IB7C)

The IB7C is an ongoing tournament for all members of the Illinois bowfishers. It will run from March 1st to the September 8th at the "Drill and Grill"
There will be five contests:
[ul][*]Common Carp[*]Bighead and Silver Carp[*]Grass Carp[*]Buffalo[*]Gar [/ul]
The Gar contest will be judged by length and the Carp and Buffalo contests will be by weight.
You may join one or all five or any combination. The cost will be $5 per contest ($25 for all) 100% payout by category. (Plus prizes)
Participants must be Illinois Bowfishers members and sign up for the tournament before taking any fish that will be entered.
Fish must be taken by bow and arrow device and must be taken in IL waters (boundary waters are okay).
To be a part of this fun tournament, just fill out the form and mail it with the correct fee to the address listed on the form. Good Luck and may the best Bowfisher win.

To submit a fish for the contest, please send/email the following: Fish species, length, girth, weight. Also a picture of the fish next to yourself or a measurable object.
You can snail mail/email this info to Johnny B or myself.
I will be putting the fish entry forms online soon.

So far the tally is Common Carp is held by Chris (bulzeye) at 8# 12 oz, Buffalo is held by Johnny b at 17# 8oz. Christine and Slim have both shot larger Commons this year, as well as Mike. But no one has submitted anything.

Hey Johnny,
Matt Clark signed up for all species and Chris Clark signed up for buffalo and carp.
John Carrigan shot a 33lb+ common in central ILlast weekend but he didn't sign up for the contest yet. [:-]

Common Carp- Slim- 22# even
Grass carp- Snuffy (Mark McCleester) 47# 2oz
Long nose gar- Luke Whitkanock- 25# 10oz
Buffalo- John Borgers 17# 8oz *
Big head carp - Alex Gabe- 28# 13oz
Note A larger Buffalo has reportly been shot, but I have not been officially been notified yet.

I stand corrected. Yes it is by length. and Luke's was 57 1/2 inches long. As far as your buffalo goes, Kendall told me about it is all. I'm sure the picture is on it's way or he will give it to me at the next shoot.
