Default What would you change?

I always look at ways to upgrade the equipment I use.

What things are all ya'll thinking of changing before next season? Boat? Motor? Bow?

I finally got me a boat, so I'm gonna change where I go and how many fish I shoot!

I'm also gonna (hopefully)change my wife'sthoughts about having a gar mounted.

I've got too much money invested into my boat project, so I really need to finish it. I think I'll try sticking to a recurve next year and mount my retriever on it. I wasn't real happy with the spincast this last year.

I just bought a Mathews Heritage longbow on eBay; I was thinking about taking it bowfishing next year.

I also bought a Zebco 808 bowfishing reel;it will replace my drum reel on the recurve I use for bowfishing.

I also need to work on the wife about getting a fish mount. I have everthing else mounted, deer, elk, bear, boar, rattlesnakes, coyote. So I defently need a fish too. I'm happy with just about everything else. I do need to move my trolling motor over to the right side of the boat and get it out of my way. I also need to remember to put the boat plug in. Last week when KBI-Prz and I went I was so anchious to get going I for got. Never seen ole KBI move that fast.

They also make recurves now. Never shot one though, so I don't know much about them.

As far as what I'd like to change for next year; I'm not sure. Maybe a new pair of hiking boots for wading, but that's about it.

The Heritage is the only longbow that Mathews' makes. I'm having a heck of a time getting used it - longbows have a lot of hand shock if you don't hold 'em right. I met a longbow shooter at the range the other day and he was quite good - almost like Byron Ferguson.

I had no idea Mathews made traditional bows at all. Sorry to hear about the hand-shock Fishpoint.

What range do you go to?
