Default Johnny B's Trailcam deer

Johnny B sent these to me.

First picture is of deer he'll shoot next year.
Second photo is of a deer he's planning on putting in the freezer this year.

BTW, you can put your hunting exploits in the illinois bowfishers blog www.illinoisbowfishers.com/clickblog2

That's got to be nice to have proof that those nice boys are out there where you hunt. May you be more sneaky than they are.

There are lots of deer where I go too, and some big ones are in there somewhere, but it's public land, so I don't dare put out a camera.

Tons of tracks, but it's tough getting close to them because of all the other hunters in the area. Most guysthat I've talked to out thereend up going several seasons between deer kills because of all the hunting pressure. On public land, sometimes you have to take whatever walks by, at least until you have meat in the freezer.

Both of those deer will make real nice company in the trophy photos.
Good luck buddy.

Snuffy's pictures. I guess he's passing up deer like this. []

Good luck with the big boys Snuffy and Johnny!

This my first year of hunting public land exclusively. (tho' if anybody wants to take me hunting on private land.. just say the word )

It certainly is a whole different ball of wax. Just seeing a deer is a trick. I've been checking out the sign in/sign out sheets and up until just recently hardly anybody has been seeing anything. On the 1400 acre Mackinaw public area there were 75 hunters out there on opening day. So far only 16 deer have been taken on that property.

Some guys out there are looking for a trophy, but most are like Bulz and I. Any deer that's made out of venison will do.

I went out 10 times and only saw one deer while I was hunting. Yesterday (day 11) I was surrounded by deer --when I was trying to climb down the tree. (it was most entertaining) So, I'm hopeful that sooner or later (hopefully sooner) a deer will show up during shooting hours and I'll have some fresh meat in the freezer. And like Bulz said, then I can get picky.

Good luck again to Snuffy and Johnny B! I know how hard it is to get a good spot... and hope you guys get the big bucks!!

I would guess Johhny B's first pic, and Snuffy's are 2-year olds. It's good to pass them up, especially if they're on private land. They'll both be real nice bucks next year. But Johhny's second pic looks like at least a3 year old to me, and he'd be the one I would want this year too.

Good luck you guys! And thanks for sharing the pics.

Nice venison. Dragging handles aren't bad either.
