Default question about batteries

I was just out with a brand new pair of batteries for my trolling motor, man what a difference, I shot 6 and boated 4 , a 10,12,15 & 16 lb.. Any way, should I run my batteries down to the end before I charge them ,or is it ok to charge them after each trip?

Default RE: question about batteries

I was told if its the first trip on hte batteries you should run them down fully and then recharge them but supposedly marine batteries dont develop a memory....

Default RE: question about batteries

Tommy Mac,
Well just spent $160 on two large marine batterys. My son-in law showed up this weekend who lives in Iowa. He works at Exide battery plant. He could have brought me one golf cart battery for $45. that would have more reserve than the two I just bought. If I had only known. So check out the golf cart suppliers for their prices...may be next boat.
