well the wind hurt us pretty bad tonight. was calm at sunset but picked up to the point the fan wouldnt hardly push us. water is still pretty murky. unless it clears up a lot it is gona be a tough shoot with a troller. we are only able to shoot fish in less than 8in to be able to see them. I belive the carp spawn is over
not very many up and mainly small fish. the gar spawn is awesome right now. lots of big fish up and in groups. we ended up with 226. prob 70% gar. moved 4 times in the truck to stay in holes and out of the wind. got a phone call today they are whackin the heck out of BIG buffs on kentucky. had a 65,67 &68lb taken in 1 night out of the same bay. looks like i am headed south for a day. anybody up for a road trip? I will be leaving here about 3-4. this is a open invitation. call me leave a message i will be in bed till 1ish. will be home sat morn.

well carpsniper, HNI christine, and i went out to rend last night. the wind wasnt real bad when we left the ramp but kept getting worse as the night went on. about 12 a thunderstorm rolled in and we decided to call it a night. we shot close to 100 fish. very few carp but lots of buffs. they kept a 100 qt cooler full to try. I am courious to see what the total count is and how they are eating wise. the gar spawn is pretty much over now. not near as many up as there was 2 nights ago. very strange how the size, types and numbers of fish change in such a few days. we had better hope for very little wind this weekso that maybee the water will clear up. it is gona be a tough shoot if it dosent. there a lots of fish up but you cant see them in over 8 in of water. wil see everyone saturday night.

Just got in from cleaning fish. There were some big storms when we got home. I think we drove through part of what was nearly a tornado. We could even see a funnel coming down right over the edge of Stanford. The wind was so bad the rain was pelting sideways across the road and the trim on my truck just about got torn off.
anyhow, the fish still were well iced so we took a nap.
We cleaned a dozen buffs, and a substanial pile ofgar. (lost count and I'm not going out in the dark to root around in the barrel. [8D])
One gar was still alive. They're tough buggers.
Anyhow, I'm going to shower up and then fry some gar and buffalo fillets.
As best I can tell we shot around 90 fish. ~14 carp, ~18buffs and the rest spotted gar. Not bad for four hours in the wind!
Thanks for the great guide service Joseph!

Thanks Joseph for the hospitality. I was impressed with how responsive and powerful your fan setup was. While the CIRFCU won't be getting one in the near future, I can see how it is the only way to go for that kind of shooting. Way cool!
Over a hundred fish shot, most brought to the boat in four hours. If it hadn't been for the lightning chasing us off the water that number would have been much larger. We had a LOT of night left to shoot. Now I see why these guys are scared of you!
