IB big fish citations
#1
As we work on the last of the newsletter, I'd like to put in some info on our reconized 'state records' and 'big fish citations'.
For the state records, I'm just going to go off what the BAA has listed right now as the records. Unless there are objections (anybody?)
State record fish will need to submit photographs, measurements, be weighed on a certified scale andhave two witness signatures swearing to the weight.
For certificates recognizing 'big fish', we'll needmeasurements and two witness signatures. Do we want a picture too?
Also, what weights should we list as the minimums for certificates?
Common carp?
Bighead
Silver carp
grass carp (white amur)
carpsuckers (quillback)
bigmouth buffalo
smallmouth buffalo
spotted gar
shortnose gar
longnose gar
bowfin (grinnel, dogfish)
goldfish
Redhorse sucker
Hog sucker (you gotta love that name)
Do we want shad on there?
Any fish I'm missing?
Ideas may be posted here or emailed to me.

How about...
Common carp 20lbs
Bighead carp 25lbs
Silver carp 15lbs
Grass Carp 30lbs
Bigmouth buffalo 20lbs
Smallmouth buffalo 15lbs
Quillback 5lbs
Redhorse 3lbs
There are several other sucker species out there, they're sometimes hard to tell apart.I recommend we just skip 'em.
Let me know what you guys think.
Longnose gar 10lbs
shortnose gar 5lbs
spotted gar 8lbs
Any input on the above?
