hey i am interested and was wondering price and details

zmax hunter 11-27-2009 05:24 PM

Here is the pricing for 2019

7 day hand drawn bow hunt, no crossbows, no airbows, & no mechanical draw locks without a verified disability.

$2400
all prices are per person.

Price includes Lodging,
all prices are for semi guided hunts
Does Not include tag/license/meals
There are no hidden fees,...

A $1000 non-refundable deposit will be required to reserve your hunt. Balance is due on arrival.

All hunts will be located on private land featuring creek or river bottoms, or woods with local crops consisting of corn, milo, soybeans, wheat, alfalfa, I have no contol over what crop is planted when and where,..the farmers typically rotate crops.

All hunts will be in Unit 7 or Unit 8 and most all areas will be within a 20 minute drive. I will have stands set over trails, food sources, rubs, and scrapes,...you are welcome to bring your own as well.

New for 2010 is the April 30th deadline to apply thru the state for your tag. All applications must be performed online, the following link will get you there.

http://www.kdwp.state.ks.us/news/Hun...-and-Fees/Deer

If you are planning to come as a group, I will typically be taking a maximum of 4 hunters per week ,...so the first to book and reserve their week will determine what weeks are available. I do have several hunters who maintain their choice of week, as they are returning customers.

Lodging will be provided thru our lodge, the www.millstreetinn.net
As for the Millstreet Inn, the walkout basement is now complete and will be available for your use as well,,...It consists of a mudroom, laundry room, bathroom with shower, pool table, and other games, double dining area, full kitchen with bar, sectional couch area with a 50" television, and other seating. It is a great place to relax have a drink, fix a meal or just hang out. I am still working on getting the pics added to the website.

Archery season will start about Sept. 15th give or take a day or 2, the state has not released season dates yet. There is a small chance of killing a velvet buck during the first few days of the season,,,bucks are generally shedding velvet during this time but it is a great time to get onto a non-pressured buck.

It is archery season during our muzzleloader season, several of the past ml kills were within bow range, under 40yards, so dont think you cant kill a buck with a bow in sept. and early october.

If you have any questions, you may PM me here or call/text my cell, 785-392-7230

Regards, Brian

I am not familiar with Kansas game laws. Can you tag more then one buck during rifle or M/L season or is this a 1 deer hunt?

Peer Pressure!!!! All this talk about shed hunting and people seeing deer that have lost their head gear made me go for a walk today. Skies were perfectly overcast, temps were tolerable, snow is melting so things are a bit muddy, I have to think it was worth every step. :)

I havent got him on trail cam, but I found them both, they were about 150 yards apart.

The right antler measures out with 71"
The left antler measures out with 73 3/8"

Looks to be a 160 class buck with a 16" spread

The larger of the 2 small ones is most likely from last year, it was kinda buried in the grass, the smallest is a fresh shed.

I just might have to go for a walk a little more often, :)

I picked up some more nice sheds on Jan. 27th,...

The 4 point shed with the G2 sticker measures 65 7/8" and the other nice 4 point shed, lower left, measures 62 2/8" it has 19 1/8" of mass,... both were found within about 150' of each other. I also found a nice 5 point shed a few days earlier, it measures 62 4/8".

Most recent camera photos include these 2 bucks, if you look near the right leg to the feeder stand, there is a small 4 point shed laying there. :)

and I found a few more sheds.

zmax hunter 03-06-2010 03:46 PM

I have been doing a lot of shed hunting, found my 26th today.

I also recently acquired 2 very nice properties featuring creek bottoms, crop fields, and hedgerows. I will begin running trail cams on all properties in July.

I would like to find 1 muzzleloader hunter, 2 more rifle hunters, and 4 more bow hunters.

KDWP whitetail tags go on sale April 1st thru the 30th,

Thanks for your interest!

zmax hunter 03-27-2010 12:44 PM

I have just acquired some outstanding deer hunting ground. Featuring a river bottom, lots of trees and timber pockets, with a creek, various crops, even an apple orchard of nearly 100 trees. I would like to find 1 or 2 muzzleloader hunters and several archery hunters for the property. There is over 700 continuous acres.

zmax hunter 04-27-2010 09:03 AM

Just a few days left to enter the Kansas draw, i have property in both units 7 and 8. Good Luck to all of you this coming season.

zmax hunter 02-06-2011 09:00 PM

2011, I have added 3 new properties for the coming season. I will have just over 900 acres between 7 properties this year.

Last year, 5 of 8 clients killed bucks, To date, all clients have rebooked for this year except for 2 who are going to Iowa this year. I will personally assist you each day.

Here are a few views of 1 of my new properties. There are some nice big Oaks and Cedars on the property, I will be installing ladder stands soon, This property has not been bowhunted for several years and I also plan to install a feeder.

Property #1 consists of 320 acres, it is all pasture with natural springs and a couple of ponds. This property is located on the end of a mile long dead end road, There is very little traffic or pressure in the area. Yes, there will be cattle in here, but they are typically out by Nov. 1

This view is looking to the east in the northeast corner, the thickets about a 1/4 mile over is the east property line. lol

I found alot of nice rubs

1 of the big Oaks

This view is looking approx 1/4 mile to the nnw toward the north west corner

I found this deadhead in the northeast corner of the property, which is a 1 mile hike

I saw several deer, view is looking at the north fenceline

This photo is looking west down the north fenceline, it is ideal for hunting with south or north winds.

zmax hunter 02-06-2011 09:26 PM

I wish i had saved more photos to Photobucket, I went thru a major computer crash and have been able to save some of the kill photos from this past year, but not all of them, I'm still trying to find them on the disk, regardless, here are a few.....I also found this 160 class dead last spring

Having filled his buck tag, this hunter and I made a 3/4 mile stalk on 12 Rio Tom's, we had to sit and wait but then they moved our way,....no blind bow kill,....Congrats again!

zmax hunter 02-06-2011 09:53 PM

I killed this 17 point grossing 192 in 05'

These replica sheds were found locally several years ago, the nontyp. side measured over 140 and the typ side went over 80"

This buck was killed locally in 2009,....It scored just over 203 with 28 scorable points,....

Awesome hunt/Great guy/lots of deer

My father and I were 2 of the 5 who connected this past hunting season with Brian. I met him on an archery website and wanted to go on a bow hunt but my father doesn't shoot a bow so we went on a rifle hunt. Brian told me up front it was his first year doing it and that he would do his best to make sure we get a deer and let me tell you he went above and beyond. When we arrived he showed us the properties and by the end of the day we couldn't decide on where we wanted to hunt because every place looked so good. We are from Pennsylvania and have some nice deer here but looking at the trail cam pics he was sending me all summer and fall long I could not wait to get to Kansas. The first night we got there that evening we scouted because the hunt started the next day and Brian and I sat on one property and my father sat on another property just watching the fields. I think we saw 40+ deer and 5 or 6 of those were bucks. We also saw coyotes which was pretty cool. My father was texting me telling me he saw over 50 turkeys and a monster buck that Brian has trail cam pics of posted on here. The first day of the hunt my father and I saw several bucks and passed on all of them. I saw a BIG buck the first morning and couldn't get a shot. The second morning we decided to change our approach to the property to maybe get a crack at the buck and my Dad got to the area when he saw a buck jump across a gas line. Dad got excited and shot and we found his buck a few hours later. He said man why do they look so big running across the gas line but he was happy with the deer he killed. It was a very large bodied deer with a nice set of antlers. That evening I hunted where my Dad saw the big boy Brian had trail cam pics of and with 5 minutes of light left this big fella came out and I could not pass on him. It took 4 lethal shots with the .300 WSM and Brian can vouch for me all 4 were good shots before this big guy went down for the count. He weighed in at approx. 220+ lbs. and his neck was 36 in. around just below his white patch on his throat which was impressive. I will post pics when I get him back from the taxi. this summer. If anybody is wanting to book a hunt with Brian you will love the accomodations and he goes above and beyond to make sure you are seeing deer. His knowledge of the area was impressive and he knows how to hunt the wind and is all about scent control to get you close to those big KS bucks! Enjoy and if you have any questions about the hunt send me a private message.

zmax hunter 02-07-2011 08:16 PM

Property #2, totals approx. 160 acres. It has about 70 acres of timber, many Oaks and cedars, and creek bottom. Deer densities are very high in this area.

He could be right below you.

This is the view to the nnw from the stand. Currently, I have 6 stands on this property

There are some serious rubs in here If you notice the cedar in the center of the photo above just a bit to the left, that is where this rub is, about 30yards

A view to the wsw of the creek bottom

The deer trails literally look like cattle paths, and no, there arent any cattle in here.

View looking north up a pipeline cut, as you can tell, the elevation changes alot

This is a hidden tillable field, the normal creek is on the left and a dry creek funnels in on the right. there are several scrapes along the tree line.

Speaking of scrapes, here is a nice one back in the timber.

muzzleloader 2010

I also hunted with brian in 2010,my hunt was during the muzzleloader season(sept20 to sept24) everthing trooper08 said about Brian is how I was also treated. The weather for my hunt was brutal 90 degrees & very high south winds everyday.Brian did everything possible to put me on deer, depite the hot weather he was willing to even do a drive for me.Saw lots of deer & passed on some smaller bucks, also saw some nice shooters but out of my comfort zone for a muzzleloader.I didn"t fill my tag but will be back this year(2011)As we all know early season deer hunts has alot to do with the weather. If you have any questions PM me. (the MILL STREET INN is very nice)

2010 Deer Hunt

My father and I bow hunted with Brian this past year, and while my father didn't score I took a nice 14 point in the 135"-140" class. The deer was taken in the last 8 minutes of hunting on the last evening of the hunt, so if you've never believed the TV shows - believe them it really does happen that way sometimes.

I was only able to take that deer due to the persistence of Brian, and his text messages urging me to stay put until the last possible moment, and that is only one of the accolades I could bestow on Brian. After I shot my deer in the rain, Brian waded a creek to get the deer across to his truck, dressed it out, then took to taxidermist with me that night. After it was caped Brian took the deer to his shed and boned out the meat for me and brought it to me at the Inn (where we stayed) so that I could have the time to pack and get ready to leave the next morning. Saying Brian is the hardest working guide I've ever had the privalidge to hunt with would be the understatement of the century! The only photos I have of the deer are those taken at the Taxidermist, but will forward to Brian so that he can post. There are some very nice deer on his properties, but that is only part of the reason we will return. The biggest reason as that neither my father nor I have ever hunted for a week and felt so relaxed and comfortable, nor had a outfitter work so hard to insure that we had a good time and a great hunting experience.

I'd tell everyone to hunt with Brian, but then I don't want everyone shooting the deer I am after :)

zmax hunter 02-24-2011 07:52 PM

Here is Gerald's 2010 bow kill, Main frame 10 with 2 stickers on each base. Rage Titanium pass thru

I found this heavy 4pt side on Sat. 3-5-11, Base mass is 5 5/8"

I still have open dates available, both bow and rifle.

zmax hunter 03-21-2011 10:17 PM

Rifle season still remains unbooked, Tags must be applied for during the month of April. I also have early Oct. and late nov. bow dates available and I currently have 8 properties totalling 1600+ acres.
