Rio or Merriam's Turkey Hunt Wanted
Responsible hunters, father and adult son looking to chase a rio or merriam's this spring. Have some turkey hunting experience for easterns here in IL.
Was thinking a KS Rio or a SD Merriam's would be the closest places to chase each, we're located in northern IL, and plan to be driving, so closer the better.
Open to paying a trespass /trophy fee and DIY. Though open to a reasonable quality outfitted hunt. If we're taking the time to venture out of our state to hunt a turkey, we really want to be successful.
I'm considering using a bow as well, so if you have experience guiding bowhunters that would be good, though my dad will certainly be using a shotgun, though I hear in some western states you can use a varmint rifle on turkeys? You would have to educate me on the rifle/turkey options.
Email or IM me with more info, or post, thanks.

RE: Rio or Merriam's Turkey Hunt Wanted
Saluki,
I do archery only hunts for turkey in the TX Panhandle around Shamrock.
I have tons of birds and if you can shoot it's a done deal.
Had 10 hunters last year and everyone got one except one guy who missed twice.
We use pop ups and I do have feeders going year round.
It's $300 for a weekend hunt and that's 1 Tom and you can shoot hogs.

I have some excellent turkey hunts available in southeastern Colorado. These are fully guided 3 day hunts for 750.00 per person. This includes meals, lodging, guide, blinds, etc. You will see lots of turkeys during your three day hunt. Great hunt at a great price!!!

I am affiliated with an outfitter in Lebanon, KS who is only 30 min. away from one of our three ranches containing 6,000acres per ranch. If this sounds good for you and your son, contact me anytime!
