RE: Rifle Scopes
If you're in the market (this is the classified area, after all) I've got a used Simmons Pro 50 2.5-10x50 that I'll sell you for $50 delivered (some cosmetic flaws but functions perfectly), ora very gently used Simmons 8-point 3-9x40 for $30 delivered. It was taken from a Savage package rifle.
If you're looking for a brand-new scope in that range, one of the best that I've read about is the Tasco World Class 3-9x40. They can be had for about $40-$50. I've never used one myself, but read quite a lot of positive comments about them (which frankly amazes me, considering Tasco's reputation).
I've used a couple of low-end Bushnell Sportviews, and they were okay. I only used them at the target range, not in the field.
Good luck. Drop me a private message if you're interested in either of the scopes I mentioned.

RE: Rifle Scopes
Have you thought about checking local pawn shops for a used leupold? I've tried those cheap scopes thinking I could get away with using them on .22's and such and found that rarely you get one that adjusts like it's suppossed to or stays on target.
