I made one several years ago doing pretty much the same as you. I used an old set of BDU's and attached LOTS of strips of dyed burlap. I particularly like using burlap because it will fray apart over time adding to the effectiveness of the suit. An old sniper buddy of mine taught me how years ago. A good ghille suit is a labor of love and if done right, is a work of art. Another tip, I used an old helmet cover to make a hood to match. Take your time, if done right, you can hide in an open field!

They also sell them.
? Are they practical for Bow hunters?
I'm assuming the bow string might catch on to some of the material during shooting.
