Finally after 3 weeks I recieived my replacement camera. Its the DIGRC-XTR, 3.0 digital model. After having numerous problems with the first camera, I sent it back. I'm going to test this one out over the next few days, and see how it does. I was told there was something definetly wrong with my other camera.
2 strikes and your out........I don't believe in third chances, so I hope this dang thing works better than the first one............or........or........well, let's hope it works good.

I talked to a "tech" at Stealth Cam about my digrc-xtr and he told me to try some Everady "e" batteries and that they should last 10 days. He also gave me a return number to send my cam back and they would replace it (it will take 3-4 weeks). Please let me know how your "new" cam works.

That's funny...High dollar batteries and ten days?????????
Well, I just checked my replacement Stealth digi cam.......9 days in the field, 6 daylight pics, and only 3 flash pics at night.......batteries dead!!!!!!!!!!
Freakin' sux..........
I was told that the camera "should" operate like any digital camera. Well, my reguelar digital camera has had batteries in it for over 3 months and is just now showing low.
Not happy at all.

I tried the "high dollar" (everready "e") and all I got was 4-5 days! I called Stealth Cam and they said to send it back to them and they would replace it. They said it would take at least 3 weeks!!! Our bow season starts Oct 1 so that really "sux" but I think that is my only option at this time. I was wondering if anybody has tried a 12 volt battery hooked to the solar charing port on the bottom of the unit? The solar charger that Steath Cam sells is 12 volts so I can't see why a regular battery won't work, even if it over charges the recharable batteries and fries them they should last longer then 4-5 days!

Stealth has a severe problem with battery drainage. I can understand if the unit is dead after 7 days and it has taken 50 plus pics with many of them using the flash. But to take 6 daytime pics, and 3 nightime w/ flash and be dead?? It has a sleep mode........WTF??????
Do not waste your time sending it back to Stealth. Send it back where you bought it and get a refund. Buy a Cuddeback digital...........I am!!
What really pisses me off is my whole early season game cam scouting has been screwed up by Stealth. No way they can ever fix that.

Unfortunately it is too late to send it back for a refund (must be within 30 days) so I have already sent it back to Stealth. I have ordered a cuddeback from Cabela's and it should be here by Sat. so at least I can get some scouting in before our season starts next Friday (Oct. 1st). When the "new" stealth cam gets back I think I might try a different power source , either a six pack D-cell from Radio Shack or a 12 volt battery and wire it through the solar charger (what do I have to lose?).

I have several of the Penn's woods DS-04. Awesome camera, very pricey though. After two months and a few hundred digital pics I'm still on the original batteries. I paid $369.00 at Cabelas last month. They have since changed the price to $699.99.

The new Leaf River digital is one sweet cam too.....I just got one with a LCD picture viewing screen and lots of other nice features for less than the others....very easy to set up and use...Leaf makes a super cam.....I really like the self timer so you can shoot a test pic of yourself to see if the cam is framed and at the right height and angle with the LCD screen.
