RE: Tree Lounger Climbing Stand
Just as an FYI, I just went to the TreeLounge homepage and checked it out. Seems that the original owners are back and I would hope that any shortcomings that were put into place while they were gone will be fixed. I still think they are one of the best stands you can own. Just my $ .02 worth.

RE: Tree Lounger Climbing Stand
ok oeh if i'm new here then so are you. we joined on the same day back in 2003. i am sry i only have 39 posts compared to your 2000 and some. i guess i only talk about things i know about on a personal level. i don't know everything therefor i can't answer all posts. now with 2000 and some odd posts, then you must know everything tmiller just look at how many joined on that same date in 2003 . but i do agree with you on the tree lounge. i have only got to play with one of my friends and of course go to the local authorized T/L dealer and sit in the one on a pole but i can tell they are safe. like i say i am going to have one. i may have to work a little overtime and not tell her.:D |
RE: Tree Lounger Climbing Stand
Oldelkhunter new here????? he's been ticking folks off for a while here. i know i have lost probably 800 to 1000 post on the crashes and OEH has probably also. |
RE: Tree Lounger Climbing Stand
I had a treeLounger for 3 years and I just sold the damn thing in a garage sale about 6 months ago for 150.00... Was the best thing I could of ever done... The thing is noisy, HEAVY, UGLY, and a pain in the butt to set up. and get just perfect.
I will say that once it was in the tree and it was perfect it was a joy to hunt out of. But for that kind of money I could of bought several stands that were just as comfortable. There are much better stands on the market for 300.00. Kevin |
RE: Tree Lounger Climbing Stand
On my way home this morning i stopped by a retailer for tree lounge. i sat in the thing and talked to the guy for a while. i will say from every stand i have ever been in (and i have been in alot) there is none that is more comfortable! hands down!
I will say the old style i have played with was kind of a pain to climb with but not any harder to set up then my api grand slam and especially my old api predator. I am really thinking about spending the dough and seeing for myself if all these things said are true. |
RE: Tree Lounger Climbing Stand
OLD ELK HUNTER you are saying the new version tree lounge is not as safe as the old model because of the leveling bar.this is an optional item. i have never really needed the leveling bar. i always looked for trees with little taper. i didnt want to spend any more on add ons or carry the extra weight. how can you say a stand is bad when it its really just the optional leveling bar that the tree lounge people have recalled ? bottom line with the tree lounge is if you can set it up before the hunt or use the wheels its not bad at all. i think most are in a rush to get hunting and dont want to spend the time with packing the tree lounge up properly or getting to the woods early enough that they dont have to rush. i get to the woods early enough so im not rushing to my hunt sites. i have learned how to make my tree lounge more friendly by adding some tape to quiet metal against metal while walking with it and painted the knobs with white paint so they can be seen better in the dark. once in the tree if you get it set right i have no noise issues.i did put a small piece of outdoor carpet on the bow hunting platform to quiet boot scuff noise. if your gonna use a stand a couple days out of the year as i suspect most of the whiners of the tree lounge are you will never get to know the stand inside out. i dont come out of the woods for lunch so being able to hunt comfortabley all day with the ability to sleep in a stand is priceless to me.

RE: Tree Lounger Climbing Stand
Okay Guys I'm back to give my two cents . I've had a old model since 1993 which proved to be a great stand.I fell for the new version a few years back. Anybody that's been here for awhile probably remembers the 4' slip I had happen.Bent the stand up and it was replaced by TL.The replacement was just as bad for slipping. I asked if anybody knew how to contact TMA.On another site where I moderate I was given names and TMA's email address.OEH is correct TL's customer service was terrible. He's had one of these exciting experiences with a New Version like I did.If nothing else it takes a couple years off your life.Things have changed at Treelounge. Bob Hice now owns it again thankfully. After contacting TMA about these issues a couple days later I received a call from Treelounge.I was asked to return it for a free replacement. Then I was asked if I wanted another new version like I had or a new revised one by Bob Hice. I have no use for the new version so I asked for the BH revised model. I was told it's a little heavier. That's not a problem. Last week I received the replacement.Basically it the same as the original Treelounges. He did keep a few of the new versions features. It's back to the squared aluminum no more of the semi rounded extrusions. The vee section which caused most if not all of the slips is back to the squared angle.I was delighted to see these changes.I think TL will go back to the company like it was when Bob Hice owned before.I personally will not use another of the New Version Rhett Spivia redesigned. If you are having problems with your new versions I would recommend contacting Treelounge. They want to make things right That was different story when Rhett Spivia owned it..I was suppose to keep a member informed when I found out anything. The problem is I can't remember who you are. I had it written down but can't find it.Send me a email and I'll get back with you. Put Treelounge in the subject box.One other thing since Jan 04 all the new Treelounges come with a 4 point full body harness.

RE: Tree Lounger Climbing Stand
ORIGINAL: t_miller316 . also just shows how stupid some people are on here. if you weren't happy with it in the first place tree lounge would have refunded your money less shipping. THE SAFEST STAND ON THE MARKET PERIOD. THAT IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT Funny you say that. I wanted to return my new version and Levelers. They wouldn't take them back. Now in all honesty that was after Bob Hice was gone. I would have to agree with you about the safest stand on the market if we're talking about the original Treelounge. The new version is a death trap.I never had a slip with my old version. The new version with the semi rounded extrusions constantly wanted to slip.Say whatever you want but I've used the TL's for along time and know the difference.I personally think you're a little out of line with your comments to OldElkHunter. He's entitled to his opinion just like you are. I happen to agree with OEH about these Treelounges.A little respect goes along way. Ruger Redhawk |
RE: Tree Lounger Climbing Stand
About the Levelers. They were an option. There is a recall on them. The bolts were pulling through the thin aluminum. I had both of mine revised and received them back last week. The revision didn't amount to much. They took a powder coated aluminum plate 1/4" thick and mounted in on the back bar of the Leveler.
Anybody interested I'm selling them. I have two for the seat section only. I'll take 25.00 ea plus shipping for both or 30.00 plus shipping for one. These were around 60.00 each. Treelounge came out with the BITE-N-BLADES a couple years ago. These mounted on the back bar to help stop the slipping. I received a free set from TL.It helped the foot climber. It wasn't to be used with the Levelers.I'm sure it would have helped the seat section if I didn't use the Levelers. The Levelers are no more. At least I don't see them on TL's site. They now have Angle Adjusters. You have two settings. One inch or two inches. They run around 40.00 if I remember correctly.t_miller probably won't agree but Treelounge hit bottom. The new version about ruined TL. Now that Bob Hice is back I'm sure things will turn around for the best.If I hadn't had the experiences with mine I might think OEH was exaggerating. But from my experiences I know he's not. He's being honest and telling it like it is.I have read allot of complaints concerning the new versions. Here and on other sites. When I contacted TMA I didn't hold back my feelings. I told it like it was.If I had known that BH was back at TL I would have tried contacting them again first. It's pretty bad when you contact a business and can't even get a reply. That's all water under the bridge now. I'm sure it can only improve.I'm looking forward to trying my newly revised new version again. I'm sure it will be like the original TL's were. Thanks God Bob is back and we can have decent and safe Treelounges again. I still will use my Treelounges on occasions but after buying my two JRH Gunslingers last year the TL's will get used only once in awhile or I should say as a last resort.. The Gunslingers to me are allot nicer stand. Less money and easier to use. Ruger Redhawk |
RE: Tree Lounger Climbing Stand
Good to see you back Ruger. I am also glad Bob Hice is back running Tree lounge their business was really run under by the previous owner. Not in the market for a treestand but if I had to buy another maybe it would be a "NEW" treelounge with the bowhunter setup but use it for gun hunting. Competition now for treestands is fierce and more and more better designs come out on seems like daily basis.
