I've had a Simmons Aetec on one of my .338 WM's for about 5-6 years now and that scope takes the punishment well and is extremely clear. Those Aetecs are great scopes. The Bushnell 3200 on up are the old bausch & lomb scopes which are well made. I've used some of the cheaper Bushnells and had bad luck with them.

Calhunter - Glad to hear about the aetec, I have one on my 6mm, but after having cheaper scopes recoil shatter on my 300win i wasnt sure about the aetec on a magnum, now I now it'll stand up. They are nice clear scopes. The leupolds are tough to beat. Either would be a good choice.

I also have an Aetec and I find it to be a good scope and I really like the 5” eye relief with the 44mm obj. lens.

i would stay away from simmons and burris i have owned several in the past. save yourself the heartache from upgrading in the future. buy a leupold and get hunting. im pretty sure you can get a vxii 3x9x40 off ebay or similar for 250$
