Hello, I have a moose hunting trip in Newfoundland coming up this fall. I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations for a good pair of 16-18" rubber boots. I have my bow-hunting and gun hunting boots I wear while hunting here, but I can't imagine walking all day in them (Rocky 1200grms, way too heavy). Was looking to see if someone made a light weight low insulated pair. Been looking at Cabela's bog busters with the neoprene uppers. I wasn't sure how the neoprene would hold up in the brush. Thanks for any help.

Extra Tuf makes an awesome neoprene rubber boot. I live in southeast alaska and everyone uses these boots from hunting to fishing and they hold up really well. They come uninsulated or unsulated and now even have new traction on the bottom. I wear them all time while deer hunting and they are very comfortable and lightweight.

If you're looking for a lightweight, comfortable, light insulated 18" rubber boot that you can wear all day long, you don't have to look further than the LaCrosse 18" Burly Classic. I've worn this boot for years in the spring turkey woods and walked a lot of miles in them and they've always served me well. In short, a very comfortable boot at a reasonable price. I also have a pair of Burly ATS boots in camo but they are considerably heavier to walk in and make a better boot for stand hunting where a lot of walking isn't involved. Here's the Burly Classic....

can't say enough about this boot!

I agree with MOTurkeyTamer, Lacross makes a great, comfortable boot. I also have worn them for years. Keep in mind these rubber boots are ankle huggers so if you step in some muck the boots wont stay there when you take your net step. The only down fall is they arent slip on or slip off boots and require some effort especially when removing them..
For Winter I use the Lacross icemans and my feet have been warm ever since and I have tried many boots including the so-called Micky mouse boots that are suppose to keep your feet form but never did. I hunt in temperature as low as -20

I too have a pair of Lacrosse Iceman boots. They are the warmest boots I have ever had, use them for ice fishing and stand hunting. The Lacrosse Bog boots are fairly light neoprene fit snugly at the ankle, easy on and off and come just up to the knee. Just make sure that you buy them big enough so you can get a good pair of sweat soaking socks on ifyou are doing a lot of walking.

LeChameau Chaussers are the most comfortable and also the most expensive rubber boots I have heard about ! I haven't stepped up to them yet.......but all my friend's with them say they are like wearing moccassins and nothing else compares......at all !! But they are about $365 bucks !
