Default EAR PROTECTION

I need ear muffs (for sound protection). I mainly need them for studying at home to drown out the background noise. Does anyone else use them for this purpose? If so, which ones would you recommend and which decible rating?

Thanks!

Generally ear muffs are not that comfortable for extended wear.
I suppose you could use them for your purpose.

I would try the little orange rubber foam earplugs. You could cut the ends off and noone would know you were wearing them unless they looked closely.
Also try getting a loud fan and sit it next to you, they drown out a lot of noise.

I'd go with foam plugs, too. Wearing earmuffs for two hours at the range every other week is enough as it is without taking them home with me.

On a couple of flights on the company, the airline provided the eye masks and ear plus for sleeping. I would go with the foam ear plugs, same thing.

We have need of using ear protection at my job site. Both the muffs and the foam plugs are offered. The foam plugs not only block more noise but also are more comfortable to wear. I'd go with the plugs.
