I am interested in buying a camera to take to the stand with me so I can take pictures of the deer I don't plan on shooting. I was wondering if someone might be able to give me some advice as to what might be the best camera for this kind of thing. Thanks very much.

Olympus have a compact digital that is showerproof.
Looks good to me.
I have always used a comparable model in 35mm, and it has been most reliable, taking very crisp photos in all sorts of light conditions.
Most of the photos on my posts were taken with this camera.
It also has a very handy infered remote, useful when hunting alone.

Either would work. I use to use a 35mm but now just carry my digital cannon with me. I like the fact I don't have to wait for development or burn up film, view the pics and decide if they are worth storing and printing. The down side is zoom, if taking long distance photos but then again most cheaper/smaller 35mm aren't any better. I place mine in a ziploc if wet weather and inside my coat when extremely cold. Uploading to your computer for email, etc is so simple with a digital and you can edit the pictures as you see fit...a big plus!
You may want to consider a video camera with a tripod mount as another possible solution. My buddy does this, it is pretty cool to sit down and view his day events. I have one for the family and will be packing it next fall when i plan on sitting for the day, just to cool to recount the deer and the harvest if so lucky.
