I've been reworking my get-home bag that I keep in the truck, focusing on compact defense and mobility. The core of the setup is the Smith & Wesson M&P FPC 9mm. This folding carbine has been a fantastic addition. It breaks down small enough to fit in a standard backpack with its included case, and it shares mags with my carry pistol. I've found it to be reliable and surprisingly accurate for a trunk gun.
But a tool is only as good as your ability to use it and get to it. For mobility and safety, especially if I ever had to cover ground on foot at night, I added some reflective gear from RunUnited. Their vest and arm bands are now a permanent part of the kit, making sure I stay visible on dark roads.
Finally, I stashed here a pair of Fila trail shoes in the truck. They're comfortable, have good grip, and are a lifesaver if I ever need to ditch my regular footwear for something more practical for a long walk. It's all about layers of preparedness.
Has anyone else put together a similar vehicle kit? I'm always looking for ideas to refine my setup.
