SOS devices
This is for a friend who is always at odds with technology.
Last week he had an ATV roll over middle of no where, no cell signal and no help. Fortunately he wasn't hurt or trapped under it. After walking for hours he was able to find help.
With this in mind, are there affordable GPS or non GPS SOS devices out there. There are Satellite phones et al, none too cheap though at $60 a month plan which is more than the ATV payment.
What solutions do folks here use?

Emergency position indicating radio beacon
EPIRB is a life saver this should be a essential device for Hunters, M:bikers/hikers, fishers etc, we have these devices for our farm employees in compliance with Health & Safety NZ. Worth it 👌
