Silent pants.

Hi folks.
I am a guy from Denmark who have had an eye on your fantastic hunting clothing.
I'm going on a bear hunting in B.C. at the beginning of June. And I want a pair or 2 new pants. I need some names and brands as I can not try them before they are sent all the way to Denmark. So I trust you. Otherwise they can become expensive quickly.
I am looking for a good pair of hunting hiking pants. There are not too heavy. And can be used on mountain hunting. They must also be completely silent. So I can use them on deer hunting. They do not have to be watertight. but they may very well be it. Tempraturen is between 40 and 80 degrees F.
And I have also considered in ordering a set firstlite and under armor base layer top and bottom. Mostly because I can not decide which is best.
I look forward to hearing from you.

First, Welcome to the site. To answer your question, I'd recommend wool pants. Wool would come the closest to the requirements you had. They are silent in the brush, are comfortable in the temperature range you gave, (although 80 deg. might be a bit warm). Will shed water up to a point, And if they get wet, they'll still be warm. You mentioned 2 pair. Get a heavier pair for cooler conditions and a lighter pair for warmer weather.

Thank you for the welcome. And thanks for the answers.
But can we narrow it a little. What is your favorite hunting pants. There as well as possible live up to these requirements.
The reason for my concern is that I have bought some waterfowl hunting clothes that looked like something that was silent. But when it came it was absolutely not.
I have a set of Sent blocker dream season silent shell. And they live up to my requirements. But is the high waist and poorly finished inside so they rake against the skin at the zipper end. After a couple of hours, I can not endure to walk in them anymore. But otherwise they are silent and waterproof enough.
Do you know of something similar. it does not have to be scent-control clothing.

For early season bowhunting, my favorite pants are of soft cotton with a camouflage pattern of no particular brand name. For later season hunting, I use Woolrich wool pants for rifle hunting. and for late season bowhunting, camo pants of "wolfskin" material made by these guys.

They are light and wind and water repellent. I wear them over wool pants.

I too recommend wool or wool/poly blend. Depending upon the temp, you may want to consider a loose fitting wool bib over all and good quality wool jacket shirt that you can layer under. Filson makes superb wool gear. Pricey but taken care of will last many, many years. Soft cotton is very quiet, and I use it often in warm south USA hunting, but in the BC latitudes that can turn wet, and very cold even in June, I would not recommend it. Another option would be a good quality poly fleece. The soft, super quiet high nap fleece will pick up every sort of burr seed that the woods has to offer. A low nap poly fleece will work great. You might even consider a medium weight, water proof, poly over suit and layer under it. Welcome to this forum and hope you have a great hunt.

I have a pair of Cabela's brand pants that have detachable bibs which make them overalls. They are considered "silent suede" and they are pretty damn quiet. you can't hear them at all in the woods and maybe a little bit in camp. I picked em up around Christmas time last year so I am sure they will still have some. I think mine are Mossy Oak Infinity camo too. So comfortable and warm.

If you are looking for some great pants for spot and stalking any game, in your stated temperatures there are two really good ones. Sitka's Mountain Pant or First Lite's Kanab pants. First Lite's Merino Wool Kanab pants are about the quietest pants you can own. I spot and stalk western game all year long in both of these pants. I like the Sitka Mountain Pants for day hunts and I like the First Lite Kanab's for backcountry hunts where I'll be hunting in the same pants for more than 2 days, due to the awesome odor control of the merino wool kanab pants.
