I do. It doesn't cause any kind of obstruction on the barrel and it keeps all foreign particulates out of the muzzle while in the field. You can also use things that look like the finger of a latex glove (or a tiny condom for you people that have never seen a latex glove) and it does the same thing. The Electrical Tape is just cheaper and provides more than just ten or so with each package.

The pack contents vary pretty widely ,what time of year ,what I'm hunting ,where I'm going. A local day hunt takes a day pack with some gear for just in case,If I'm getting on a plane or boat the pack gets much bigger with enough that if I'm stuck for three weeks , I'll be just fine.

In Alaska I can see exactly what you mean. We're only allowed to hunt here for about 6-weeks or so in the fall so that's what I base my pack on. Our season leads into the early part of winter so I want to make sure I have enough to sustain me through that part of the year too. I'm always looking for ideas.

1. First-aide kit
2. Cell phone (turned off)
3. Gerber Multi-tool
4. Buck knife
5. Browning flashlight
6. Set of extra batteries
7. Hand warmers
8. Call
9. 2 water bottles on each side.
10. Boonie hat if I'm not wearing it.
11. Extra dry gloves
12. Zippo
13. Steel wool
14. Butt out

Off hand that's all I can remember but I have so many little pockets that there's no telling about all the little stuff I've stuck in there.

Good thread!

Ah, lets see....

Binoculars
zip ties
water bottle
knives (multiple because I always lose one every season ...)
Big Chief Tablet. For real, my wife found one for me. I like to write alot
gloves, stocking cap, etc. in case it gets cold.
Maglite
Annual hunting laws guide Texas puts out
ammo!
peanuts....my daughter and I eat them and chuck the shells out for the birds
various half full scent killer bottles and junk
face mask even though I'm not bow hunting these days it kinda stays there
as does my release that's way too small for my hand
and the holster for my .38 pistol that was stolen 3 years ago....
batteries and memory cards for my trail cam

/shrug

probably a few other odds and ends. I picked up a cheap camo shoulder bag at Academy years ago and it still does the job pretty well.
