What's your favorite camo pattern?
Don't know why I ask, just making conversation I guess. But what is your favorite camo pattern? Mine is Mossy Oak Obsession. I think it's a good looking pattern. And looking cool in the woods makes me a better hunter :p, right???

I have an assortment of real tree and mossy oak.The mossy oak usually blends in better at my spots.
I'm in SoCal and "Open Country" seems to fit the landscape most of the year.
i prefer desert camo, here in eastern oregon it blends in with just about anything.hell after 3 or 4 days ya cant tell what they are
Whatever is on clearance.
Max 1 works well most places that I hunt, through most hunting seasons, though. |
lol at grizzly but I am also a Mossy Oak fan
Mossy Oak blends in well in most locations, so its my favorite. The old Realtree pattern is pretty good too.
I like Realtree AP and Mossy Oak Obsession. But pretty much anything that's comfortable. I'll have to change my preferences when I move to Utah as the terrain there will be covered in snow when I'm hunting down those Elk and Muley's.
I am a big fan of Natural Gear....but typically I find mossy oak on sell so I have a bunch of that as well.
Natural Gears Original pattern, often I go walkabout in green or brown khaki pants and tan long sleeves though.
I use Seclusion 3-D for early fall and spring.I use military woodlands or Mossy Oak New Break Up as it cools.
REALTREE AP is best.MOSSY OAK TREESTAND is second.both are fine and it dont matter to deer anyhow.mossy is darker shade than the realtree.
I use Natural gear in the pine cammo.
UltimateCamo bark pattern, especially for up close in your face bow hunting. Early season, late season, in a tree stand or on the ground, this stuff messes deer and turkey up. Low light or direct sunlight, this pattern reacts just like real bark does, and it doesnt blob at distance or low light.

What a good Predator you make.
nice pics. boy, 45 yrs on hang -on like you have.
no more ole sproul at 56 went to ez chair stand. SUMMIT 180 MAX is now my choice. take care sproul |
In Colorado I use 100% Natural Gear in the original tan colors. There's a big difference between that and dark camo at least where I use it.
RealTree AP
I really like Sitka but it's way too expensive...

My favorite camo. . .
is something that doesn't cost anywhere near $100 for the pants and shirt. Anything that doesn't read -hunter camo- on the clothing tag.
Watched the wife, the photographer, yesterday, take some pictures of a doe and two fawns from some 25 yards. Never wore a piece of camo in her life. |
opening day till when the leaves are almost gone realtree ap, after that im a mossy oak break up guy

I use Scent Loks Vertigo or Mathews Lost Camo, depending on where I'm hunting and what is behind me for what ever stand I will be using.
I am seriously looking into the Mossy Oak Infinity. But honestly, last year I used MO's Treestand camo and I had plenty of mature deer by me last year and some as close as 5 yds away. Out of these deer, only one looked directly up at me and then went about her browsing. It was like she looked right through me. I even had turkey walk past my stand and not give me a second look - which to me was astounding.
lost camo pattern. ive always used realtree before that though
realtree AP until all the leaves are gone, then mossy oak new break up.
Realtree AP

Favorite Camo
I often use mossy oak break-up beacuse of it's versatility but, I like King's Camo and Mothwing
The only pattern I've used has been realtree hardwoods , and it works pretty well in the forest where I usually hunt.
My all time favorite has been Advantage Timber. Since that's nearly extinct it's been AP or Lost Camo for me.
Predator brand camo is my fave, fall grey and spring green are my mainstays. Nat gear original is also good, especially when things turn up here. Most mossy oak patterns are to dark for here but I do like the treestand pattern. Shadow grass or max 4 for waterfowling.
Not sure it matters to the game, it boils down to the hunters perception of what looks good or works best. I have always believed in breaking up the blob image and as such prefer contrasting lines over images of foilage..jmo. |
Realtree Advantage Timber has always been my favorite but since it is so hard to find in the near future I am switching to Treebark 005 pattern. This is made by Jim Crumely who owns OutfitterTuff camouflage and who started the original Treebark. This definitely matches my Virginia terrain. Mike

i like max-4hd the best i think it looks the coolest and plus im big on duck hunting.
I really don't know anymore. There are soo many brands and patterns out. They all look good. Mathews lost camo looks pretty cool though.
I've always been a Predator Fall Grey guy - I think it is the finest pattern out there. Animals are wary of large, dark blobs, and Predator is one of the few camos that ever figured that out (ASAT being another).
That being said, I'd probably buy some Optifade if I need camo again. I think that it takes Predator-type camo to the next level. |
Realtree AP HD for me. But I figure camo catches more hunters than game, just like most fish bait is designed to get you to buy it more than get fish to bite it. I have used the old fashioned army woodland camo which doesn't look like anything for years and deer don't notice me at all. I now use Realtree AP HD and I still don't get noticed. The goal is to break up your outline and most any camo does that.
But I still want to look good. ;) |

Attachment 11851 I have tried a couple diffrent patterns and my BY FAR FAV Is the Kings mountain shadow Camo. It really is amazing how well it works. It was designed for the western states so it has Sage, aspen, scrub oak, pine and more in the pattern. I read that 90% of camo especially the camo made in china contains UV brightners which in the eyes of a deer, makes you look like a bright blue glowing glob.
I emalied Kings customer service and asked them if their camo contaied UV. They replied and says that it does not. Their camo is made in phillipines. Check out their website.... http://shop.kingsoutdoorworld.com/ <<<<<<< PS. I am wearing Kings camo in my avatar, blends in pretty good uh? I have been pretty impressed with it so far. <<<<<<<< |
Here in the east I like the old advantage timber, but its near impossible to find. I've also used outfitter camo, that brown stuff, I like it alot cuz it just blends.
