Default Thermascent

I was in Wally World today and looking for some refills for my Thermacell and came across the "Thermascent"
It is identical to the Thermacell but dispenses scent.
Has anyone gotten one to try?

The used up pads from your Thermacell can be reused as scent dispensers , save your money .

That's an interesting idea... the Thermascent seems to lift the pad up away from the heater a bit, though. I don't know if there's a good reason for that or not. I'd be a little concerned with residual repellent messing with my doe urine, too.

I looked for the stand-alone thermascent part at LL Bean the other day, but they only had it as part of the package with the whole heater, which I don't need. Has anyone seen the thermascent parts sold separately?

If the repellent smell was gonna mess with the deer you couldn't use a Thermacell during the mosquito ...er... bow season . Nearly all of it will be exhausted when you use the pad for scent dispersal anyway . The distance from the heater couldn't make that much difference since it doesn't get hot enough to ignite the pad , it may also simply be a design change from the repellent model . I've used "shake n' bake" type handwarmers to warm scent pads before , maybe you could try that . They're a lot cheaper than Thermacell pads and they give off no scent at all .
