As long as there is no wind. Seems that even a small breeze makes them much less effective.

I have to give a big thumb's up for the thermacell ,i used it for turkey hunting this spring and my poor buddy was down the fieeld from me getting eaten allive by theose pesking flying mosquito's .They took a few minute's to really get going and I was thinking that this was just a piece of garbage ,but then it kicked in ,and there wasn't a bug near me .
I say they work awsome ,but take 10 minute's to really start working.

Yes is an understatement! I went hog hunting yesterday afternoon and had a doe walk directly downwind of me and to the pile of corn and beans without even detecting the Thermacell or me. BTW I was only about 18' up a tree. I highly recommend it.
